Yes — same-day appointments are available most days depending on technician availability and your location. Call or book early in the day for the best chance at same-day service. We also frequently accommodate evening and weekend requests that most offices won't.
Ink fingerprinting captures your prints on physical FD-258 cards using traditional ink and roll technique. These are required by certain agencies (FINRA, NFA, some state agencies). Live Scan is digital — prints are captured electronically and transmitted directly to the FBI. Live Scan is faster, has lower rejection rates, and is required for most federal background checks. We offer both — if you're unsure which you need, call us and we'll tell you based on who's requesting the check.
You'll need a valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID). If your employer or agency gave you specific forms or an ORI number, have those ready. We'll walk you through everything else when we arrive. No special preparation needed — just make sure your hands are clean and dry.
Processing time depends on the agency receiving your prints — not us. For Live Scan FBI submissions, results typically come back within 2–5 business days. Ink cards sent by mail can take 4–8 weeks. State-level checks vary. We submit your prints immediately after the appointment, so your clock starts the same day.
It's rare, but if your prints are rejected due to a technician error — poor quality, wrong form, incorrect submission — we will return and redo them at no charge. If rejection is due to poor print quality from your fingers (a natural condition some people have), we'll work with you on solutions and advise on the best submission method to minimize future rejections.
